Islands and stone tops
Closet islands with stone tops
A closet island adds drawer storage and a surface for setting out clothes. We check the floor space before including one. A quartz or stone top is sourced and installed by us, with its own line on the quote.
What an island can carry
- Drawers on one face
- Drawer stacks use soft-close undermount slides.
- Shoe shelves on the other
- Slanted shoe shelves can be fitted on the opposite side of the base.
- Open shelving
- Open shelves provide space for bags or boxes.
- A quartz or stone top
- We source the slab and template it to the installed base. You choose the edge profile.
- A bench-height option
- A lower run against the wall can provide drawers and a work surface where an island would restrict movement.

What to know before it is drawn
- Floor space
- We check walking space and drawer clearance on every side during the visit.
- The base
- 3/4-inch furniture-board panels with edge banding. Drawer modules use soft-close hardware.
- The top
- Quartz or stone, sourced and installed by us. Laminated-board tops are also available.
- Templating
- We template the top after the base is installed and levelled.
- Finishes
- White, Grey and Natural Oak on the base, slab or shaker fronts.
Installation questions
- Is the stone part of the closet quote?
- Yes. The stone top appears as a separate line on the written quote.
- Will an island fit a small walk-in?
- Sometimes. If the walking room does not work, a bench-height run against one wall gives you the surface and the drawers without the island.
- What about lighting over it?
- Puck and strip lighting can be fitted in the casework. New electrical wiring requires an electrician and is a separate scope.
